Lengthen and Enhance Your Life

How much time do you throw away each year incapacitated by colds, flu, headaches, indigestion, allergies, hangovers, PMT, menstrual cramps and just feeling icky?

How much time do you spend nursing children, spouses and other family members when they’re ill?

How many time-consuming, expensive trips are you obliged to make to doctors, specialists, laboratories and hospitals?

None, repeat none, of this is necessary (excepting accidents, of course) for those who eschew junk, and embrace raw fruit and vegetables, and concentrated proteins.

Vegetables are the foundation of a healthful diet.  Raw is preferable. A great way to get lots of raw veggies down is by drinking a glass of freshly squeezed carrot, celery, beet root, parsley and cucumber, as well as any greens that are available.  Organically raised raw egg is delicious, blended with the juice.  I add Maca and my favourite mineral supplement (Internal Nutrition), and blend it all for a nourishing, filling meal.

If you can’t give up cooked veggies eating a wide variety of lightly steamed vegetables, with particular emphasis on zucchini, celery and string beans, (the three liver-cleansing vegetables) is recommended. Season them with coconut oil and some organic butter, delicious! Potatoes, steamed or baked, and seasoned with herbs and butter, chives, shallots, or chopped red onions (raw or cooked) are a delicious and filling addition to a vegetable meal.

Take time out to relax, away from technology, and reflect upon the extra years, possibly decades, of life that you and your family will gain through healthful habits. Looking at it from this perspective, preparing fresh, wholesome food saves time and money.

Elaine says:

The solution to adopting a healthful, life-lengthening diet lies not in having shelves of recipe books, but in adopting principles and sticking to them for the rest of your life.
