Hello,

We receive many enquiries and complaints about shampoo.  Some cosmetic companies blatantly list astonishingly-dangerous chemicals on their bottles.  I guess they just don’t care.   Others claim that theirs are organic and completely free of chemicals we all want to avoid.   This is, unfortunately, rarely the case.   Even the semi-safe ones contain suspicious-sounding chemicals.  I confess to being  fussy, and my motto is IF YOU CAN’T PRONOUNCE IT, DON’T EAT IT, OR PUT IT ANYWHERE ON YOUR BODY.  If you feel that way, too, this may be your answer —  Soap Nuts.

It’s inexpensive and you can find it in many health stores and organic markets.   It’s not specifically a shampoo; it’s an all-purpose soap that can be used almost anywhere you need to clean, including your hair and body.  It doesn’t, however, lather, and that can put people off because they have the perception that lather cleans.  It doesn’t, and it is usually created by the use of dicey chemicals.

You can find heaps of info on this product on the Internet, and full instructions for making liquid soap are in the package.   I love it, and so do several friends.

If you try it and like it, please let me know, and I’ll carry on recommending it.  If you don’t like it, tell me, too.   We “health nuts” have to stick together.  They are trying to gain on us!

Yours in good health
